Coffin Handled Scalping knife

The “scalping” or “trade” knife of the 19th century was a straight backed single edged utility knife. This J. Rateliff Scalping knife is just that. All business with no frills. 1075 high carbon steel hand forged by me in the Bighorn Mountains. The handles are black paper micarta. It is approximately 8.5 inches long overall with a 5.5 inch blade.
